Through this program, you can work toward earning a variety of badges across multiple categories, including small game, fish, migratory birds, and big game. Each harvest brings you closer to prestigious milestones like:
Master Bowhunter and Pinnacle Award –> Our highest honor!

To be eligible for awards, your S.A.B.A membership must be active prior to the date of harvest. Be sure your membership is up to date before the season begins.
📋 We maintain detailed records of all submitted harvests, and these awards are based on your cumulative achievements over multiple seasons-> so every harvest counts!

The S.A.B.A. Bowhunter System recognizes members for their achievements in harvesting a variety of species across both small and big game categories. Each class builds upon the last, representing skill, patience, and time spent in the field.
These accomplishments are celebrated annually at our Awards Banquet in March, but the journey toward these honors continues year after year.

🏆 Master Bowhunter AwardThe Master Bowhunter title is one of S.A.B.A.’s highest honors, awarded to members who complete one of the following systems. Recipients receive an engraved S.A.B.A. belt buckle as a symbol of their dedication to bowhunting excellence.
System I – Completion of all Small Game and Big Game Classes
System II – Six different big game species, five qualifying for Pope & Young
System III –
🌟 Pinnacle AwardThe Pinnacle Award is S.A.B.A.’s most prestigious honor — presented to the bowhunters who complete all three Master Bowhunter Systems.
This achievement represents years of dedication, respect for the hunt, and a lifetime of adventure in the field.
Note: These systems are not designed to be completed in a single season. Each accomplishment is recorded and tracked by S.A.B.A. over the years as members continue their bowhunting journey.

🎯 Small Game AwardsClass I
- Magpie (compulsory)
- Plus any two of the following: skunk, rabbit, gopher, or raccoon (must be different species)
- Two species of upland game birds, plus
- One coyote or fox
- One goose (compulsory), plus
- Two species of ducks
- Three different species from the following:
northern pike, lake whitefish, sucker, burbot, carp, or buffalo carp
🦌 Big Game AwardsClass I
- One big game animal (male or female) of any species
- Three big game animals (male or female)
- Three big game animals (at least one male)
- Two must be different species
- Must have completed Small Game Class I
- Three big game animals (three species total)
- At least two males
- Must have completed Small Game Class II
- Five big game animals (different species)
- At least three males
- One must qualify for Pope & Young
- One must be a bear or cougar
- Must have completed all previous classes
